I have been actively involved with the CAW, and before that, the Canadian Brotherhood of Railway,
Transport and General Workers Union (CBRT&GW) for more than two decades. I have served on
various committees within the labour movement and the City of Vancouver.
I believe in education, which is why since becoming President of Local 4001 I have lived up to my
commitment to ensure our Local Union officers, both new and old, have attended various courses
and educational seminars to ensure they are educated to be effective leaders. I also successfully
lobbied the CAW National Office to allow the participation of our Rocky Mountaineer Vacations Local
Chairperson to attend courses at the week-long Paid Education Leave (PEL) at the CAW Family
Education Centre in Port Elgin, Ontario.
I feel my experience in business administration, various labour movement activities, Human Rights
and Workers' of Colour issues, grievance handling, and the administration of Local 4001 continues to
make me the best candidate for the job as President of Local 4001.
Its been a privilege to serve the entire Local 4001 membership in B.C. and Alberta the past three
years, and I hope for your support in re-electing me to another three-year term.
President, CAW Local 4001
