Former CAW President Buzz Hargrove invested as Officer of the Order of Canada

In a ceremony held at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on November 5, 2009, former CAW National President Buzz Hargrove was invested as
an Officer of the Order of Canada.

The Order of Canada is Canada’s highest civilian honour.  Created in 1967 marking Canada's centennial year, the Order recognizes
lifetime achievements and dedication of outstanding Canadians, and has invested over 5000 individuals over the past 40 years.

The announcement of Hargrove's appointment to the Order of Canada was first made by Governor General Michaëlle Jean in July
2008.  Hargrove was one of 35 Order of Canada recipients who participated in the investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall, which is the
official residence of the Governor General.
