CAW Council 4000 and Local 4001 welcomes new members from Rocky Mountain Catering Co. Ltd.

CAW National Council 4000 and Local 4001 are pleased to welcome 67 new members from Rocky Mountain Catering Co. Ltd., who
join our Union following a successful organizing drive and subsequent certification with the Canada industrial Relations Board (CIRB).

Rocky Mountain Catering Co Ltd. is a full service catering company headquartered in Kamloops, B.C.  The company provides catering
services aimed at the Kamloops/Okanagan and South Cariboo market.  They recently commenced culinary services on-board Rocky
Mountaineer Vacations trains in April 2008.  The founding partners are all renowned B.C. chefs and have over the years acquired a
vast amount of experience and an impeccable reputation in the B.C. Food service industry.

These new CAW members work as cooks and various kitchen staff at the company's main kitchen facility in Kamloops, as well as
on-board Rocky Mountaineer trains that operate through Canada's scenic Rocky Mountains in B.C. and Alberta.  They are based in
Kamloops and Vancouver and will become part of the Rocky Mountain Unit of CAW Local 4001, which also services the almost 200
members at Rocky Mountaineer Vacations who work as on-board train attendants.

Ron Shore, President of CAW Local 4001, said: "We are extremely pleased to welcome the staff from Rocky Mountain Catering as
members to our Local and Council.  I am looking forward to meeting these new members in the coming weeks and working towards
a first contract that we hope will have an immediate impact on their employment with Rocky Mountain Catering."  CAW Local 4001
has committed recently to organizing more new members with the assistance of the National Organizing Department of the CAW to
grow Local 4001, in addition to Council 4000.

Special thanks go out to Matt Fischer, Unit Local Chairperson of the Rocky Mountain Unit and the Vice President B.C. Region of Local
4001 for his efforts in this organizing drive, as well as the experienced assistance of CAW National Representative Murray Gore,
who is based out of the Union's New Westminster, B.C. Regional Offices.

The Union has already met once with its new members to prepare proposals for a first contract and collective agreement with the
company.

In addition to these new members at Rocky Mountain Catering Co. Ltd., CAW Local 4001 also represents members employed at CN,
CN Transportation Ltd., Rocky Mountaineer Vacations, Savage Alberta Railway and VIA Rail Canada in the provinces of Alberta and
British Columbia.

CAW National Council 4000 is the umbrella organization of Local 4001, as well as CAW Locals 4002, 4003, 4004 and 4005,
representing nearly 5000 CAW members from across Canada who work largely in the railway and transportation sectors.  Council
