Regional Representative Elections now complete
Elections for Regional Representatives of CAW National Council 4000 are now completed.  The second ballot run-off in the St.
Lawrence Region (Local 4004) between Local 4004 President Daniel Ouellet and Serge Auger was completed the July long
weekend.  Serge Auger was elected with more than 50% plus one of the total votes required and will serve as the new Regional
Representative responsible for servicing of VIA Rail Agreements 1 and 2 in the St. Lawrence Region.  He replaces Benoit Dulong,
who decided not to seek a second term.  The positions are for three-year terms.

National Council 4000 President Bob Fitzgerald said that the position of Regional Representative is challenging and one that is
fundamental to our ability to properly represent our members.  He congratulated the successful candidates on their election to this
important position and welcomed the opportunity to work with them in the preceding term.

Fitzgerald also thanked the other candidates who accepted nomination for showing an interest in the Union by running for the
positions.  He had a special thank you for the outgoing Regional Representatives (Tony Blanchard and Benoit Dulong) who worked
diligently for the Council in the past three years.
