CBC managers hold lockout party
in same building as guild office
October 2, 2005
Last week, CBC managers in Toronto spent $1,125.74 on food and booze at a Front Street pub – located directly below the CMG office –
to celebrate week six of the lockout.  The e-mailed invitation:

I would like to invite you to Jack Astor's on Front Street at 4:30 on Wednesday September 21, for a cocktail and some munchies to
celebrate the fact that as Elton John wrote:

Don't you know I'm still standing, better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time (well 6 weeks anyway)
I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah
I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah

And for you wonderful folks in the regions, grab a glass of your favourite beverage from your fridge and at 5:00 EST, raise your glass in a
salute to yourself and this fine bunch of people sharing this moment.

Please RSVP to Margaret at [email address removed by CBC On The Line editor] ASAP to confirm your attendance so we can plan on
numbers.  The first drink is on me!

Regards,
Doug Brooks
