May 17, 2008 is the International Day Against Homophobia
The CAW stands in solidarity with our lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans members and with LGBT communities across the globe who daily confront homophobia and transphobia and take courageous steps to bring about real equality.
To mark this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, activists are focussing on health care as a major issue for LGBT communities.
The CAW supports the call for publicly funded, non-discriminatory, non-profit universal health care coverage that meets the specific and general needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people. This includes both the treatment of LGBT patients and their families as well as LGBT people working within the health care system.
