CAW National Council 4000 Convention: November 1 to 4 - Montreal, Quebec
|
CAW National Council 4000 is holding its fourth triennial convention from November 1-4, 2007 at the Delta Montreal Hotel in downtown Montreal. This year's convention is being held in conjunction with CAW National Council 4000's 10th Anniversary.
National Council 4000 was formed in November of 1997 at its Founding Convention held at the CAW Family Education Centre, located on the shores of Lake Huron in Port Elgin, Ontario. The delegates to this convention voted a change in our bargaining unit structure from 45-local unions spread out across Canada, to form a National Council with five regionally based locals to service members.
The convention features various guest speakers, debate and motions on the Bylaws of National Council 4000. Nominations for the National Council 4000 President, Secretary-Treasurer and National Election Committee are held at the convention.

|
Delegates to the convention are from the National Council 4000 Executive Board, Regional Representatives, and various Local Union Officers and members from across Canada determined on a per capita basis from amongst the five regionally based Local Unions of Council 4000 (Locals 4001 to 4005).
The deadline for bylaw amendments and proposals was on October 13th. Committees for Bylaws and Officer Reports will be established to meet in advance of the convention and to make recommendations to the convention’s delegates for resolution.
www.council4000.com will be adding updates on this year’s convention as information becomes available, including photos and videos during the convention. Click on the Convention Logo on the Home Page to access.
