Tell your Member of Parliament to vote Yes to prohibiting the use of scab labour: Bill C-257

CAW members employed at CN will remember back, not quite three years ago, when the CAW membership forced a one month
strike against the Company. During that strike, CN relied on the use of replacement workers, especially American workers, who
performed CAW Bargaining Unit duties while CAW union members were standing up, for among other reasons, a better contract
offer and proper respect from their employer. The vast majority of CN members found the use of scabs during the 2004 CAW CN
Strike as deplorable. Well, now you have a chance to say and do something about it!
The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) is running a campaign to have working Canadians urge their Members of Parliament to
prohibit the use of replacement workers by passing Bill C-257, which will be tabled in the House of Commons in October. It’s easy;
all you have to do is click on the CLC Action link below and send a fax/email to Ottawa. Tell Parliament that you support C-257. Soon,
cawcouncil4000.com will post a list of those MPs who voted against banning scabs the last time this issue went before the
Commons. We’ll also post the list of those MPs who supported the legislation the last time.
We urge all Canadians to support this important campaign on behalf of Canadian workers.

Canada Labour Code that, if adopted, would put an end to the use of scabs during
